In 1997 the Riserva Naturale of Monti Cervia e Navegna, was founded, and since then has created more than ten nature trails, including laurel, junipers and brooms.
When walking these trails, it is possible to meet the small inhabitants of the woods: squirrels, badgers, porcupines, marmots, hares and even weasels and hazel dormice. In this part of Italy you may also find specimens of wild boar, wolves and eagles.
There are many routes for mountain bikers and for walks in the woods. The best starting from Ascrea: the Gole dell’Obito, a canyon dug out by the rushing waters of the stream.
Pushing out towards Collalto Sabino, the Forra di Riancoli offers an unexpected spectacle for lovers of canyoning: waterfalls, natural pools and incredibly beautiful rock faces.
Only with the appropriate equipment can you go down into the gorge and dive into the crystal clear water. Avoid the hottest months, in summer the water levels decrease substantially.
The Turano Resort organizes a series of excursions which offer an unforgettable experience for its guests.
With expert and authorized guides you can participate in excursions within the Riserva Monti Navegna e Cervia, starting from 550m a.s.l. to 1500m.
